Under The Golden Bridge

Timing and location are obviously important when it comes to creating an image that stands out or provides interest. Shooting directly into the sun can be a technical challenge for various reasons, it can also be a little hard on your eyes… Trust me, even through a camera lens it’s not a great idea to gaze into it :-) I really love pictures taken early or late in the day’s sunlight. When the sun is low in the sky, the light is very warm and rich, the longer shadows thrown often offer an enhanced feeling for the photograph. This is not to say photos at high noon are unappealing, they have their place and offer their own set of mood and tone. ‘Sun” photos often hold a special place in myself. This photo was taken downtown Louisville, under interstate 64 next to the river.
